Taxonomy
Bombus (Bombus) randeckensis was named by Wappler and Engel (2012). Its type specimen is SMNS 68000/28, a forewing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Randeck Maar (Armbruster collection), which is in a MN 5 crater lake lime mudstone in the Randeck Maar Formation of Germany.
It was recombined as Bombus (Cullumanobombus) randeckensis by Dehon et al. (2019).
