Taxonomy
Aleurochiton petri was named by Rietschel (1983). Its type specimen is SMF 33030, a nymph (puparium), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Kiesgrube Fr. Bauer, Neu-Isenburg, which is in a Piacenzian pond claystone in Germany.
