Taxonomy
Limnophila deleta was named by Cockerell (1921). Its type specimen is BMNH i.9053, a wing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Bembridge Marls (Brodie coll), which is in a Priabonian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Bouldnor Formation of the United Kingdom.
It was recombined as Limnophila (Limnophila) deleta by Krzemiński (2019).
