Dicranomyia (Dicranomyia) excavata

Taxonomy
Dicranomyia excavata was named by Cockerell and Haines (1921). Its type specimen is BMNH I.9946, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Bembridge Marls (Brodie coll), which is in a Priabonian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Bouldnor Formation of the United Kingdom.

It was recombined as Dicranomyia (Dicranomyia) excavata by Krzemiński (2019).
