Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
R. A. Christopher 1979Equatorial outline triangular to convexly triangular with corners that are usually not rounded; shallow lens shaped, somewhat thickened in the region of the plicae that are almost always present. Wall thin, composed of two layers of approximately equal thickness. Surface smooth to minutely sculptured. Three equatorial germinals at the radial corners. Exogerminals with annuli, the inner surface of which may show weak sculpture or sometimes appear smooth; annuli may be slightly or moderately thickened, and may or may not be elongated (i.e., protrude noticeably from the equatorial outline). Exopores small, vertically elongate, often asymmetrical to the equator. Vestibulum present. Endogerminals with or without endannuli; its aperture an equatorial slit. Plicae end internally with small pointed triangular tips at the endopores. No oculi or interloculum. Mostly small to sometimes medium-sized forms.
