Taxonomy

Tinimomys was named by Szalay (1974). Its type is Tinimomys graybulliensis. It was considered monophyletic by Szalay (1974), Chester and Beard (2012).

It was assigned to Micromomyini by Szalay (1974); to Microsyopidae by Rose and Bown (1982), Gingerich (1987); to Micromomyinae by Gunnell (1989); and to Micromomyidae by Szalay (1974), McKenna and Bell (1997), Chester and Beard (2012).

Synonyms

Myrmekomomys was named by Robinson (1994). It is not extant.

It was synonymized subjectively with Tinimomys by Rose and Bown (1996).
