It was assigned to Pseudolemuridae by Schlosser (1877); to Adapinae by Hooker (1986); to Cercamoniinae by Franzen (1994); to Adapidae by Simpson (1940), Gingerich (1980) and McKenna and Bell (1997); and to Caenopithecinae by Godinot (1998).
