It was assigned to Proviverrinae by Savage (1965); to Hyaenodontidae by McKenna and Bell (1997); to Hyainailourinae by Peigné et al. (2007); to Teratodontinae by Solé et al. (2014); and to Teratodontinae by Borths and Stevens (2017).
