Taxonomy
Cubicostissus palaeocaeni was named by Bourgoin and Wang (2020). Its type specimen is MNT Nel 3485, a forewing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Menat (MNT collection), which is in a Selandian crater lake diatomite in the Menat Formation of France. It is the type species of Cubicostissus.
