Weinberginidae was named by Richter and richter (1929). It is not extant. Its type is Weinbergina. It is the type family of Weinberginacea.
It was assigned to Synziphosurina by Størmer (1955); to Xiphosurida by Bergström (1968); to Weinberginacea by Bergström (1975); and to Prosomapoda by Dunlop et al. (2020).
