Psammobia olequahensis was named by Weaver and Van Winkle Palmer (1922) [TYPE SPECIMEN: First listed co-type.]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is UW 324, which is in a Bartonian marine horizon in the Cowlitz Formation of Washington.
It was recombined as Gari olequahensis by Hendy (2020).
