Taxonomy
Cardium (Cerastoderma) scapoosense was named by Clark (1925). Its type specimen is CAS 680 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is CAS 168, northwest of Scappoose, which is in a Rupelian marine sandstone in the Pittsburg Bluff Formation of Oregon.
It was recombined as Cerastoderma scapoosense by Weaver (1942); it was recombined as Clinocardium scapoosensis by Durham (1944); it was recombined as Clinocardium scapoosense by Hendy (2020).
