Taxonomy
Cardium sookensis was named by Clark and Arnold (1923). Its type specimen is UCMP IP 30291 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Kirby Creek, east, which is in a Chattian marine sandstone in the Sooke Formation of Canada.
It was recombined as Cerastoderma sookensis by Weaver (1942); it was recombined as Clinocardium sookensis by Hendy (2020).
