Taxonomy
Columastrea paucipaliformis was named by Baron-Szabo and González-León (1999). Its type locality is Cerro de Oro I, Mexico, which is in a Barremian/Aptian reef, buildup or bioherm reef rocks in the Cerro de Oro Formation of Mexico.
It was synonymized subjectively with Columastrea indica by Baron-Szabo (2009); it was recombined as Actinastrea paucipaliformis by Löser (2010).
