Taxonomy
Octocoenia lugdunensis was named by Orbigny (1850). Its type specimen is lectotype MNHN-F-B09537, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Stylina lugdunensis by Milne-Edwards and Haime (1851), Milne-Edwards and Haime (1857), de Fromentel (1861); it was recombined as Adelocoenia lugdunensis by Lathuilière et al. (2020).
