Taxonomy
Heterolimulus gadeai was named by Vía Boada and Villalta (1966). It is a mold. Its type locality is Montral-Alcover quarries, which is in a Longobardian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Muschelkalk Formation of Spain.
It was recombined as Tachypleus gadeai by Lamsdell and McKenzie (2015), Dunlop et al. (2020).
