Maglio 1970 | Molars very low crowned, the height being one half to three-fourths of the width; the median cleft lacking, but strong grooves superficially dividing the plates into prominent columns; plates wear as complete enamel loops; plates triangular in longitudinal section, wider toward the root; transverse valleys open to the base, but strongly V-shaped in cross-section; enamel 3-6 mm in thickness, not folded; lamellar frequency, 3-4. Cement abundant but usually not filling valleys completely. Mandible with very small but prominent incisors in some individuals, possibly males only; symphysis short. |
