Taxonomy
Electrapis (Melikertes) stilbonota was named by Engel (1998). Its type specimen is NHM 17778, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Ziegelei Wien XI, Laaerberg, which is in a Messinian lacustrine - large mudstone in Austria.
It was recombined as Melikertes stilbonotus by Engel (2001); it was recombined as Melikertes (Melikertes) stilbonotus by Engel (2021).
