Taxonomy
Qibinius maculatus was named by Fu and Huang (2020). Its type specimen is NIGP172141, a tegmen, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Peizhuang outcrop, west of Yan'an, which is in an Aalenian lacustrine shale in the Yan'an Formation of China. It is the type species of Qibinius.
