Taxonomy
Maculixius jiewenae was named by Wang and Bourgoin (2022). Its type specimen is MDHP11, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Burmese amber, Kachin amber (China West Normal University MDHP collection), which is in a Cenomanian terrestrial amber in Myanmar. It is the type species of Maculixius.
