Taxonomy
Tachina succini was named by Giebel (1862). It is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is East Africa Copal (Coburg collection), which is in a Holocene terrestrial amber in Tanzania.
It was recombined as Palexorista succini by Townsend (1921); it was synonymized subjectively with Palexorista solennis by Crosskey (1966); it was recombined as Drino (Palexorista) succini by O'Hara and Cerretti (2016).
