Taxonomy
Tenthredella toddi was named by Cockerell (1914). It is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Florissant (Todd coll), which is in a Chadronian lacustrine - large shale in the Florissant Formation of Colorado.

It was recombined as Tenthredo (Tenthredella) toddi by Taeger et al. (2010); it was recombined as Tenthredo toddi by Vilhelmsen and Engel (2012).
