Polymera (Polymera) alexanderi was named by Krzemiński et al. (2021). Its type specimen is ISEA MP/3453a, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Dominican amber (ISEA Krakow coll), which is in a Burdigalian/Langhian terrestrial amber in the Dominican Republic.
