Taxonomy
Entelophylloides (Prohexagonaria) occidentalis was named by Merriam (1973). Its type specimen is USNM 159410 and is a 3D body fossil. It is the type species of Entelophylloides (Prohexagonaria).

C. W. Merriam 1973Prohexagonaria with numerous, somewhat wavy, unthickened septa. In transverse thin section, the dissepiment pattern includes many peripheral anguloconcentric and nearly straight traces. Tabulae close spaced and arched or flat. Corllite wall fairly straight.
