Taxonomy
Cacopsylla trigona was named by Zhang et al. (2019). Its type specimen is CNU-HOM-PS2018001, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Caergen Village, Duohemao Town, Zeku County, which is in a Burdigalian lacustrine shale in the Garang Formation of China.
