Taxonomy
Dipterocarpoxylon indicum was named by Ramanujam (1956). It is not extant. Its type locality is Murattandichavadi, which is in a Neogene marginal marine horizon in India.
It was recombined as Dryobalanoxylon indicum by Awasthi (1971), Srivastava (1991).
