Taxonomy
Gonomyia (Cretagonomyia) burmitica was named by Kania‑Kłosok et al. (2022). Its type specimen is NIGP BA02-050, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Burmese amber, Kachin amber (NIGP collection), which is in a Cenomanian terrestrial amber in Myanmar. It is the type species of Gonomyia (Cretagonomyia).
