Technomyrmex svojtkai was named by Perrichot and Engel (2022). Its type specimen is NHMW-N6976, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Ethiopian amber (NHMW collection), which is in a Miocene terrestrial amber in Ethiopia.
