Sando 1985Solitary and fasciculate corals having a clisiophylloid axial structure composed of an axial plate, axial tabellae, and septal lamellae; two orders of septa; an indistinct, open cardinal fossula with a short cardinal septum; a tabularium composed of wide tabellae, periaxial tabellae, peripheral tabellae, and variably developed clinotabellae (absent in Heintzella and Paraheritsch ioides); and a dissepimentarium composed of concentric, anguloconcentric, herringbone, and rarely lonsdaleoid dissepiments.
J. Fedorowski et al. 2013Colonial, dissepimented Aulophyllidae; offsetting lateral; complex axial column closely connected to cardinal septum; extra septal lamellae and median lamella reduced in some corallites; dissepimentarium interseptal; small lonsdaleoid dissepiments and pseudonaotic septa at maturity; septal flanges may occur; biform tabulae in some septal loculi.
