Bryant 1996Synapomorphies: deep masseteric fossa with a distinct dorsal margin on the lateral surface of the maxilla and jugal; fossa on the ventral surface of the zygomatic arch below the postorbital process; posterior margin of the palate level with or anterior to the anterior surface of Ml; P4 protocone reduced or absent; Ml smaller than that of Dinictis fe Una.

Barrett 2016Synapomorphies: deep masseteric fossae on the medial and lateral faces ofthe zygomata; fossa on the ventral surface of the chin; spatulated incisors, with accessorydenticules especially on the lower incisors, I3 slightly caniniform and distinctly larger thanthe other incisors; anterior cusp on p4 mesially/distally longer than the posterior cusp;serrations absent on adult minimally-worn cheek teeth.
