Taxonomy
Caipora bambuiorum was named by Cartelle and Hartwig (1996). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Toca da Boa Vista, which is in a Pleistocene/Holocene cave horizon in Brazil. It is the type species of Caipora.
