Proteacidites baibianae
Discussion
The epithet baibianae honors the Baibin family for allowing access to some of the studied outcrops.
Taxonomy
Proteacidites baibianae was named by De Benedetti et al. (2023). Its type specimen is MPEF-PA 853, a microspore, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cerro Bosta (CBO) (Paleobotany), which is in a Maastrichtian marginal marine siltstone in the La Colonia Formation of Argentina.
