Proteacidites mirasolensis
Discussion
The epithet mirasolensis refers to the Arroyo Mirasol Chico, a creek in the vicinity of the studied outcrops.
Taxonomy
Proteacidites mirasolensis was named by De Benedetti et al. (2023). Its type specimen is MPEF-PA 951, a microspore, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Paleoazolla type locality, Cerro Buitre, which is in a Maastrichtian terrestrial horizon in the La Colonia Formation of Argentina.
