Taxonomy
Iverya averyi was named by Béthoux and Beattie (2010). Its type specimen is AM F.132815, a wing (right wing), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Sideritic lens near main Southern Railway Line, which is in a Pelsonian/Illyrian pond siderite/shale in the Ashfield Shale Formation of Australia.
It was recombined as Triassologus averyi by Béthoux and Anderson (2023).
