Taxonomy
Protoita istvani was named by Ulmer and Krogmann (2023). Its type specimen is LU HAR26, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Lebanese amber, Homsiyyeh-Aazour-Roum (LU HAR collection), which is in a Barremian terrestrial amber in Lebanon.
