Taxonomy
Burmotettix ruber was named by Dietrich and Zhang (2022). Its type specimen is NWAFU HF00003, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Burmese amber (Northwest A&F University collection), which is in a Cenomanian terrestrial amber in Myanmar.
