Taxonomy
Leptostigma longiclava was named by Archibald and Rasnitsyn (2023). Its type specimen is RBCM.EH2017.050.4085.0001, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is McAbee (RBCM collection), which is in a Ypresian lacustrine - large mudstone in Canada.
