Snotra herczeki was named by Drohojowska and Szwedo (2023). Its type specimen is GPIH 5082, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber, GPIH collection, which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in the Russian Federation.
