Taxonomy

Spongentactinia concinna was named by Aitchison (1993). It is not extant. Its type specimen is GSWA F44057. Its type locality is Pillara Range, SE of Menyous Gap, Canning Basin, which is in a Frasnian reef, buildup or bioherm shale/limestone in the Gogo Formation of Australia.

It was recombined as Retisphaera concinna by Won (1997).

Synonyms

Somphoentactinia cavata was named by Aitchison (1993). It is not extant. Its type specimen is GSWA F44050. Its type locality is Pillara Range, SE of Menyous Gap, Canning Basin, which is in a Frasnian reef, buildup or bioherm shale/limestone in the Gogo Formation of Australia.

It was synonymized subjectively with Retisphaera concinna by Won (1997).
Spongentactinia exquisita was named by Aitchison (1993). It is not extant. Its type specimen is GSWA F44058. Its type locality is Pillara Range, SE of Menyous Gap, Canning Basin, which is in a Frasnian reef, buildup or bioherm shale/limestone in the Gogo Formation of Australia.

It was synonymized subjectively with Retisphaera concinna by Won (1997).
