Taxonomy
Alichurastrea major was named by Melnikova and Roniewicz (2020). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sedek Creek, which is in a Pliensbachian open shallow subtidal wackestone/schist in the Gurumdy Formation of Tajikistan. It is the type species of Alichurastrea.
