Polyrhachis annosa
Taxonomy
Polyrhachis annosus was named by Wappler et al. (2009). Its type specimen is IPB-WAPPLER-1a, b, an exoskeleton (worker ant), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Apomarma, which is in a Messinian basinal (siliceous) mudstone in the Varvara Formation of Greece.
