Merithone laetitiae

Taxonomy
Merithone laetitiae was named by Montagna and Magoga (2024). Its type specimen is MCSN 8679, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Val Mara VM12, Meride, Monte San Giorgio, which is in a Longobardian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal limestone in the Meride Formation of Switzerland. It is the type species of Merithone.
