Taxonomy
Leptothorax gracilis was named by Mayr (1868). Its type specimen is Konigsberg 7655/369, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. It is the type species of Eotemnothorax.
It was recombined as Temnothorax gracilis by Bolton (2012); it was recombined as Eotemnothorax gracilis by Radchenko (2024).
