Taxonomy
Lithocardium dilatatum was named by Cossmann (1906). It is not extant. Its type locality is Coislin, which is in a Lutetian/Bartonian marine horizon in France.
It was recombined as Avicularium dilatatum by Harzhauser et al. (2008).
