Latomeandra ramosa was named by d'Orbigny (1850). Its type specimen is syntypes MNHN-F-A90933, MNHN-F-A07518, MNHN-F-A26579, MNHN-F-A09630, MNHN-F-A09631, MNHN-F-B45105, a skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil.
