Taxonomy
Psammobia lintea was named by Conrad (1848) [DISTRIBUTION: Plesitocene-Recent; Western Atlantic.]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Vicksburg, which is in a Rupelian marine marl in the Byram Marl Formation of Mississippi.
It was recombined as Gari lintea by Conrad (1865); it was recombined as Quadrans lintea by Richards (1962); it was recombined as Tellina lintea by Dockery (1982); it was synonymized subjectively with Merisca aequistriata by Hendy et al. (2008); it was synonymized subjectively with Serratina aequistriata by Huber et al. (2015).
