Taxonomy
Acrosmilia corallina was named by d'Orbigny (1850). It is not extant. Its type specimen is syntypes MNHN.F.A09331 - A09332.

It was recombined as Trochosmilia corallina by Milne-Edwards and Haime (1857), de Fromentel (1861).
