Taxonomy
Dilophus flavipes was named by Skartveit et al. (2025). Its type specimen is GZG.W.40596, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Willershausen clay pit (Grabenhorst collection), which is in a Piacenzian pond marl in Germany.
