Taxonomy
Antiquanabittacus punctatus was named by Yu et al. (2025). Its type specimen is CNU-MEC-NN2022003, an exoskeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Daohugou (CNU collection), which is in a Callovian/Oxfordian lacustrine - large shale in the Daohugou Formation of China.
