Taxonomy
Wintucycas beatrizae was named by Martínez et al. (2018). Its type specimen is MOZ–PB 567, a wood, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Pichaihue (PI) - Paleobotany, which is in a Danian coastal shale/siltstone in the Pichaihue Limestone Formation of Argentina.

L. Martínez et al. 2018Manoxylic secondary xylem and phloem with primary and secondary rays. Secondary xylem tracheids with araucarioid pitting. Primary rays with parenchymatic cells and secretory cells (mucilage canals). Secondary rays with homocellular parenchymatic cells. Secondary phloem with sieve and sclerenchymatic cells. Foliar traces with a classic omega pattern. Leaf bases with simple and unbranched trichomes in a continuous layer on the adaxial side
